Ed Yong, science journalist and author of the book „An Immense World: How Animal Senses Reveal the Hidden Realms Around Us“ in conversation with Michael John Gorman (BIOTOPIA) about the incredible world of animal senses. They discuss how animals perceive the world, what humans can learn from animals, how we change our behavior in consequence and how we can better protect the animals by understanding their senses. Explore different senses from the fascinating love songs of leafhoppers to the ways that light pollution affects animals and their senses!

Ed Yong is a science journalist who reports for „The Atlantic“. He is the author of the New York Times bestsellers „An Immense Word“ and „I Contain Multitudes“ and the 2021 Pulitzer Price Winner in Explanatory Reporting.

The BIOTOPIA festival „SENSE – the Power of Perception“ by BIOTOPIA – Naturkundemuseum Bayern explored the sensory world on 1 and 2 October 2022 at Schloss Nymphenburg (Hubertussaal), Botanical Garden Munich, Museum Mensch und Natur and the BIOTOPIA Lab! At the interface of bio- and neuroscience, art and design, the festival allowed visitors to experience the world of perception.
